• MARCHING BAND 2010 AUDITIONS:
• Drumline and Percussion - Auditions will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday (March 30 & 31) at 7am.  A prepared piece will be distributed next week.  Everyone will audition on everything.  If you don't show up for the audition, you will not be part of the percussion section for the marching band next year!  
• Color Guard - March 29th - April 1st - 4-6pm in the small gym
• Drum Major - March 29th, 30th and April 1st - after school

• I was pretty disgusted by what I found in the locker room yesterday afternoon.  If your locker was left opened, or unlocked, it has been emptied.  There will be locker inspections weekly from now on.  They will be for a test grade.  They will be held at random.  Nothing but your instrument, things you need for your instrument and other SCHOOL RELATED items may be in the lockers.  Music must be kept in your concert folder in the "Folder Holder" in the band room.   (All of this is in the Band Hanbook.  And you all signed that you had read that).

• Wind Ensemble - Nice sound this morning!  As a side note - some of your grades are suffering due to tardiness.  Remember that you are receiving a participation grade for this as well, so if you don't have pencils, music, valve oil, reeds, etc, - or if you leave your chair and stand out after rehearsal, points are being taken away.
• The playing test on C Major (2 octaves and arpeggio) will be postponed to next Friday.  You will have 2 scales for next week - C and F.  Percussionists - you will be responsible for the first 4 rudiments.

• Good luck on Exams this week.  Remember for the band exam you must be able to play all major scales around the Circle of Fourths, at least one octave, starting on YOUR C Major scale.
• Show Choir Band - nice job this morning.  We need to have one more rehearsal (at least)  before we meet with the choir.  If we can work something out one afternoon this week, that would be fantastic.

• All-County Band - I am sending in the lunch order today.  So, if you still have money for lunches on Friday and Saturday I will take it this morning!  If you don't pay today, you will have to bring your lunch both days this weekend.

• Welcome back!  I hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing holiday.
• Spring Musical - I have the music for the Pit Orchestra.  Students who have been in the Pit Orchestra in past years will have priority.  Here is the instrumentation need:
• 3 (maybe 4) flutes/piccolos 
• 3 Clarinets
• 2 Clarinet/Bass Clarinet
• 2 Alto Saxes
• 2 Tenor Saxes
• 1 Bari. Sax (can be doubled by another instrument)
• 3 Trumpets
• 2 Horns
• 3 Trombones
• 1 Tuba
• 2 or 3 Percussion
